How affiliate links work
The “See prices” buttons take you to booking platforms through an affiliate link. If you book through them, Mapiola gets a small commission from the platform and you pay exactly the same.
What happens when you tap the button
You leave Mapiola for the platform named on the button (for example Agoda or Hotels.com). The booking, the payment and any customer service are always handled by that platform, never by Mapiola.
What it costs you
Nothing extra. The price is the same as if you went to the platform directly. The platform pays the commission, not you.
Why it doesn’t change what I write
The commission is the same whether I praise a place or point out its downsides, so I have no reason to hide the bad parts. There’s more on this in how I write the articles.
Mapiola is not any hotel’s website
Mapiola is an independent blog. If you need to contact a place to stay about anything other than booking, use its phone number or its Google Maps listing.
