B&B La Rosa Dei Venti in Alassio, a short walk from the sea

B&B La Rosa Dei Venti in Alassio

B&B La Rosa Dei Venti is in the heart of Alassio, Liguria, about 40 metres from the beach, with air-conditioned rooms, a terrace and an Italian breakfast. I'd recommend it to couples and to anyone who wants to get around on foot between sea and town, accepting an entrance that isn't perfect.

Mapiola is a travel blog: this is not the official website of B&B La Rosa Dei Venti.

Where B&B La Rosa Dei Venti is in Alassio

B&B La Rosa Dei Venti is on Via XX Settembre, in Alassio, Liguria, about 40 metres from the beach. It sits at the start of a street that guests associate with the seafront. The centre is within walking distance, and for me that's the real reason to choose it.

From the property you can also comfortably reach the Pinacoteca and the Muretto, two local landmarks that give the seafront walk its character. I don't have parking information, so if you arrive by car, ask before setting off. For everything else in Alassio, the location of B&B La Rosa Dei Venti is its strongest point.

What the rooms and spaces are like

The rooms are air-conditioned and have free WiFi, a flat-screen TV and a private bathroom with a shower, bidet, hairdryer and toiletries. Some have a terrace, others look over the inner courtyard. The property also has a terrace, where breakfast is served.

What you'll findWhat guests say
RoomsCosy, carefully finished, tastefully furnished and very clean
BreakfastItalian, on the terrace, with a wide choice of food
LocationVery central and close to the sea, sometimes with the sound of the waves
EntranceA little awkward, but the interior is bright and welcoming

A room with a terrace and the waves as background can be a dream for some, while for others the inner courtyard, which is more sheltered, is better. If quiet matters to you, ask which type of room you'll get when you book.

What guests say

On Google the rating is high, and the reviews are almost all very positive. I read the comments looking for recurring themes, and these are the ones.

  • The welcome. Several people describe the people running the B&B as friendly, helpful and always present, and say you can see their passion for the work.
  • Cleanliness. Clean, well-kept rooms, mentioned in many comments.
  • The location. Central and close to the sea, one of the most repeated points.
  • Breakfast. Described as good and satisfying, with plenty of choice and served on the terrace.

I was struck that one guest mentions the partner beach club, Bagni Manin, and another says they appreciated the kindness of the staff. If you're interested in a beach with sunbeds, it's worth asking directly how the arrangement works.

What to do nearby

In Alassio you do what you'd expect from a seaside resort: beach by day, promenade in the evening. From the B&B you can reach the centre on foot, the Pinacoteca and the Muretto, and walk along the seafront without using a car.

If you want to explore other parts of Liguria, two places not far away in type of trip are the AuStrAle Affittacamere in Albenga and Il Pozzo e il Melograno in Finale Ligure. They're there for comparison, not because I know them personally.

What to know before you book

The reviews are genuinely good, but there's always something to weigh up, even when the feedback is strong.

  • The entrance. One guest describes it as a little awkward, although they then found the B&B welcoming, clean and bright.
  • The centre. A central position is a plus, but a seaside centre is usually livelier than a quiet corner of the countryside. There are no complaints about noise in the reviews, but if you're a light sleeper, ask for a room over the courtyard.
  • Parking. There's no information on this, so ask beforehand.
  • The rooms differ. Terrace, inner courtyard or other arrangements, and the type changes the experience.

Who I'd recommend it to

I'd choose it for a weekend as a couple, or for a beach holiday without a car, with breakfast on the terrace and the promenade a short stroll away. It also works well for solo travellers or friends, thanks to the attentive management and the well-kept rooms.

I'd avoid it if you need step-free access, or if you're looking for a truly secluded spot. For everything else, B&B La Rosa Dei Venti in Alassio is a practical, clean and welcoming choice, and the guests' comments back that up almost without exception.
