Where L'Espace Privé Rouen is
L'Espace Privé Rouen is an apartment on Rue des Bons Enfants, in the centre of Rouen, Normandy. It occupies an elegant old building in the old town, a short distance from Rouen Cathedral.
The listing puts Rive-Droite station about 800 metres away, which is an easy walk with a light suitcase. Several travellers stress the same point: a place ideally located near the shops and the centre.
Other landmarks in the listing are further off, such as the Palais des Sports and Voltaire station. Deauville-Normandie airport is cited at 85 km. What I take from it is that this is a base for exploring Rouen on foot.
What the apartment is like
It is a one-bedroom apartment with an equipped kitchen, bed linen provided and free Wi-Fi. Designed for a self-catering stay, short or longer, it feels more like a private little nest than a hotel room.
The kitchen has a fridge, dishwasher and coffee machine. The big draw is the jacuzzi, mentioned in the listing and in many reviews. Several guests also talk about décor that is carefully finished down to the last detail, pleasant showers and a very comfortable bed.
Some reviews mention thoughtful touches, such as bathrobes, slippers, toothbrushes and even a phone charger available. One guest found the whole place modern, high quality and very clean.
What guests say
On Google, L'Espace Privé Rouen scores 4.9 out of 5 from 60 reviews, and every one I read is five stars. The same ideas keep coming up.
- The décor. Several guests find it beautiful, done with taste.
- The jacuzzi. A guaranteed moment of relaxation, especially for an evening together.
- The welcome. The host is described as charming, warm and helpful.
- Cleanliness and space. A very clean and spacious apartment where everything is designed to make you feel at home.
Most reviews describe a weekend for two, and one guest appreciated being able to switch off from the outside world for a while.
What to know before booking
I found no negative reviews, which is rare, but that does not mean there is nothing to check. Here is what I would look at before booking.
| What guests like | Worth checking |
|---|---|
| Beautiful décor, jacuzzi, equipped kitchen | Only one bedroom, so not ideal for groups |
| Central Rouen, close to shops | The listing does not mention parking |
| Warm welcome from the host | Reviews date from one to five years ago |
As the reviews are not very recent, ask about the current facilities when you book, especially the jacuzzi if that is the reason for your stay. If you are coming by car, ask about parking too.
Who this apartment suits
I recommend it above all to couples. The reviews talk about a weekend for two, a romantic evening and a place where everything is done to help you feel good together.
It may also suit someone travelling alone who wants a kitchen to cook for themselves, since the stay is self-catering. However, I would not choose it for a family or a group of friends, as there is only one bedroom.
What to do in Rouen around L'Espace Privé
Rouen is best explored on foot. Rouen Cathedral is very close to the apartment, and the old town with its half-timbered houses invites a stroll without a fixed plan.
One guest notes that shops are just around the corner. The idea is simple: go out for dinner or a walk, then come back to enjoy the jacuzzi.
